SBA Networking Lunch at Swan's Market in Oakland!

Join us at Swan's Cohousing in Oakland for business networking and lunch with sustainability-minded entrepreneurs.  Lunch is from noon to 1:30 pm and will be catered by Le Cheval, which has been serving delectable Vietnamese cuisine since 1985.  This restaurant is famous for preparing wholesome, nutritious and delicious dishes that incorporate French, Chinese and Southeast Asian cooking concepts while introducing new Asian flavors to Bay Area patrons.

Speaker: Susan Silber is co-founder of the Transition Initiative in Berkeley and a 20-year veteran of community organizing and environmental education. She will speak about the international Transition Town movement, a vibrant, grassroots movement that seeks to build community resilience in the face of such challenges as peak oil, climate change and the economic crisis. It represents one of the most promising ways of engaging people in strengthening their communities against the effects of these challenges, resulting in a life that is more abundant, fulfilling, equitable and socially connected. Susan will discuss the Transition Movement's ideas and principles, and its focus on localized economies. She will also share ideas for ways that SBA and local businesses can collaborate with the newly-emerging Transition Initiatives in Berkeley, Albany and the East Bay.

HOW TO FIND US: Come to the 930 Clay Street gate, located between 10th and 9th Streets. Walk towards the center of the courtyard (you will see MOCHA ahead of you), then through the short gate on your left and up to another gate which is the entrance to Swan's Market Cohousing. Closest BART station: 12 Street/City Center, 2 blocks away - take the 12 Street exit onto Broadway.
