Join us at Saturn Cafe for business networking and lunch.  Saturn Café offers traditional American diner comfort food with a healthy twist, with all the salty, sweet yumminess people love, but prepared in a health-conscious manner.

Conveniently located near the downtown Berkeley BART station, the Cafe offers a large private room, the "Space Lounge" where we will gather for our lunch.  Saturn's owners are committed to progressive business practices which value diversity and are environmentally sustainable, socially responsible, and community-oriented.
To get the pre-registration rate, sign up by Thursday, March 3rd at 6pm. Open to non-members. Please help in our membership campaign by inviting friends and businesses so that the SBA can grow and be a more viable force in the region. Thank you!

SPEAKER: Yonatan (Yoni) Landau is Co-Founder and Director of the Cooperative Food Empowerment Directive (CoFed: — a network, training program and research institute that helps students create food cooperatives on college campuses nationwide which serve food which is sustainable: locally sourced, nutritious, and ethically produced. CoFed grew out of a campaign that successfully blocked the first fast food chain restaurant from opening on the University of California's Berkeley campus. The Berkeley Student Food Collective opened instead, which Yoni helped raise over $120,000 to launch.

CoFed is training a new generation of leaders and eaters who believe in the power of community! At their training and leadership retreats, student teams are provided with the skills, knowledge, inspiration, momentum and support to tackle the challenge of changing their campus food, creating community-run, sustainable food services on campuses across the country. Experts help the students with everything from incorporation, business plans and retail and legal issues, to recruiting and retaining cooperative members. Last year, six west coast teams, from Santa Barbara to Seattle, began working on creating alternative dining options — thus strengthening the global movement for environmentally and socially conscious food.
